Maintenance chiropractic care

Should You Consider Chiropractic Maintenance Care Even When You’re Not in Pain?

Most people don’t think Chiropractic Maintenance Care is right for them.  They only think it’s necessary to see a chiropractor when their back is already giving them grief.

But what if staying well was better than constantly fixing yourself after things go wrong?

A research study published in the Public Library Of Science ONE journal (2018) looked at that exact question. The researchers followed 328 adults who all had recurring or persistent low back pain. Everyone started with an initial round of chiropractic care—and felt better.

But here’s the twist:
They split the group in two.

  • Group 1 only returned for care when their pain came back.
  • Group 2 received regular maintenance care every 1 to 3 months—whether they had symptoms or not.

After 12 months, the results were clear:
The maintenance care group had, on average, 13 fewer days of bothersome low back pain than the symptom-based group.

That’s nearly two weeks of better sleep, more comfortable workdays, and more time enjoying life—not sidelined by back pain.

In other words, they had More Life and Less Pain.

This idea forms a big part of what we do. We don’t just help people get out of pain—we help them stay out of it. That means looking after the spine and nervous system before things fall apart.

Now, this study doesn’t say everyone needs Chiropractic Maintenance care forever. But if you’ve had back pain that keeps returning, waiting for it to flare up again might not be the best plan.

Want to stay strong, mobile, and pain-free long term?
It might be time to consider adopting a Chiropractic Maintenance care approach where we build a care plan that’s proactive—not reactive.
